In Harmony with Nature
At Reignac, caring for nature is part of who we are. Every day, our team works to protect biodiversity and a living ecosystem for future generations.

A living estate
of 150 hectares
Château de REIGNAC forms a true ecosystem where a forest, a lake, meadows, wetlands, fallow land, a park and our 60-hectare vineyard coexist. This natural richness offers, at the heart of our property, a living refuge, protected for both fauna and flora.
Always looking to the future, the estate obtained HVE4 (High Environmental Value) certification in 2017.

Our forest, guardian of the vineyard
The REIGNAC forest covers 35 hectares.
Already mentioned in medieval registers, our forest is a true witness to the estate’s history. Today it is a real source of biodiversity where fauna and flora can flourish, creating a genuine ecosystem within our vineyard.
A study carried out a few years ago with INRA Bordeaux confirmed the positive impact of the woods on the natural protection of the vineyard. The presence of ampelomyces (a parasitic fungus) on certain oaks helps to fight powdery mildew naturally. The study also showed a lower presence of certain vine pests, such as the grape berry moth, on plots located near the forest.

A living and sustainable estate
A lake essential to the estate’s balance
Created in 1993, the lake is home to many animal and plant species, while actively contributing to biodiversity and to regulating the property’s microclimate.
The Château park is the subject of an ongoing replanting programme, as it too is an important element of the estate’s biodiversity. Trees fulfil several essential functions, they capture carbon, provide shelter for wildlife and help to naturally moderate the local climate.

The power of renewal
A 4000 m² bamboo grove
This area, dedicated to the natural treatment of water, is part of a virtuous phytoremediation approach. Thanks to their purifying capacity, the bamboos filter the winery’s wastewater by absorbing polluting particles, while contributing to CO₂ storage and evapotranspiration. At the end of this process, only pure water, free of heavy metals and pollutants, is returned to the soil.
All the property’s waste is sorted and reprocessed in partnership with the Cépages association (paper, oils, scrap metal, filters). Mindful of our carbon footprint, we have redesigned our packaging, we now use bio-based cardboard printed with water-based ink, lighter bottles and labels on bio-based paper.

HVE4
Since 2017, the estate has been certified High Environmental Value (level 4).

2 complementary terroirs
